Anyone who uses a Colorado state wildlife area for any use — from paddleboarding to hiking — must now have a valid hunting or fishing license, which will work like an annual pass for all uses. Even if people are not casting a fishing line or hunting waterfowl, licenses for those uses are required to enter any of the 350 wildlife areas, including Beaver Lake.
